Assessing Patient Behavioral Health (BH) Needs
Behavioral Health Screening Tools
Providers of people with BD should, at a minimum, incorporate yearly assessment and screening for BH disorders. These annual assessments can be completed during comprehensive care visits or more frequently depending on patient need and risk factors. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) offers provider training tools and resources for both MH and SUD. Potential screening tools include (but are not limited to):
